July 30, 2026: SKHU finally paid, and NUWE made it my best day yet

Best day of this whole stretch, and it came from the same leveraged trade that had been beating me up. I carried a small SKHU position in from yesterday's SK Hynix bet, and this morning the bounce I'd been hoping for finally showed up. For once, the 2x worked for me instead of against me.

The bounce: SKHU

SK Hynix caught a bid overnight — the kind of relief rally you get after a stock has been punished for a week despite good numbers, helped along by news that SK Group's chairman had personally bought shares to signal confidence. My leveraged fund, SKHU, moved hard on it. I worked the position around $15.28 and out near $13.79 on the pieces I traded, and when the dust settled SKHU had booked me about +$481 on the day. After three sessions of that same pair bleeding me, it felt less like a win and more like getting some rent back — but I'll take it.

The honest footnote: the difference between this day and my red ones wasn't a better read on SK Hynix. It was that the chop finally broke in one clean direction. Leverage rewards you the same way it punishes you — fast, and mostly out of your control.

The clean scalp: NUWE

Alongside the SK Hynix trade I went back to my bread and butter. NUWE was lighting up in the pre-market, and I worked it hard — something like 22 quick prints in and out around the $5 mark on a big share count — for another +$163. This is the second morning in a row I've caught one of these micro-cap ignitions cleanly, and the pattern is starting to feel like muscle memory: watch how volume and price move together in the first minutes, take the move, step aside. A small +$39 in the 2x Amazon fund (AMZU) rounded it out, with a trivial -$13 given back in SKHZ.

Add it up and it's a +$671 day — SKHU doing the heavy lifting, NUWE the clean supporting win. That claws my running total back from about −$1,450 up to roughly -$779. I'm still deep in the hole for the stretch, but this is the first day in a while where the plan and the tape agreed. The trick now is not to let one good leveraged day talk me into oversizing the next one. Tomorrow I reset.
