Aug 4, 2026: a small red day, -$53, on ProShares Ultra SK Hynix
A quiet one. I ran the pre-market list, took a few small bites, and finished close to flat.
SKHU did the work
I worked SKHU (ProShares Ultra SK Hynix) — the 2x leveraged fund that tracks SK Hynix. I was in around $16.82 and out around $16.18 across 6 prints on 600 shares, for a +$109 win.
I don't mind losing on a clean read. What stings is letting a single name run bigger than any of my winners. That's a discipline problem, not a market problem.
The SPCE mistake
I worked SPCE (Virgin Galactic), in around $3.01 and out around $2.96 across 3 prints on 1,500 shares, for a -$82 hit.
SKHZ: where it went wrong
I worked SKHZ (1x Short SK Hynix ETF) — the inverse SK Hynix ETF that pays off when the stock falls. I was in around $12.71 and out around $12.57 across 4 prints on 600 shares, for a -$81 hit. Leverage is a double-edged sword and today it swung at me — these daily-reset funds double the pain just as fast as the gain.
Add it up and it was a -$53 day. That puts my running total for this stretch at -$1,772. I'll reset, size down, and try to give it back slower than I lost it.
