BATL and NIXX both bite, -$279
-$279 on the day, spread across two names that both went the wrong way, while I quietly added to a third.
BATL, round two
The BATL shares I bought back at $1.43 on Friday went out at $1.27 across four prints for -$160. The first BATL trade made $309; the encore lost $160. Net across both, I'd have been better off never touching it again after June 10.
NIXX: in and out the same day for -$120
I bought 1,000 shares of NIXX at $1.27 and sold them at $1.15, a -$120 round trip. Nothing complicated — the trade simply didn't work and I closed it. Read: 60 round trips in one morning, and the $707 it cost me →
The part that mattered more
Underneath both of those, I bought another 1,000 shares of DAIC around $1.81 across seven prints. No realized P&L from it that day, but I was steadily building size in a name that had already stopped paying me. That accumulation is what produced the losses on the 17th and the 26th. The damage on a red day usually isn't the trade you closed. It's the position you quietly built while you were distracted by the ones you closed.
Running total: +$5,268. Read: what 890 trades looked like once I reconstructed the statement →
